Book review as one in forms to activate methods of training in profession and developing creative abilities in journalist students

Analysis in the problem of teaching history of world literature at journalism faculty is presented. Detailed is book review as a method both for activating process of studies and developing creative abilities in journalist students. Special attention is paid to typology and basic functions of book review genre.
