Abstract
The relevance of a scholarly comparison of the Russian and German education systems stems from their similarities. Despite its distinctive character, the Russian system is close in structure, content, and technologies to the Western European system, particularly the German model that formed its historical basis. The socioeconomic and cultural convergence of the two countries over a long period led to the development of common features. Both Germany and Russia have accumulated experience in ensuring access to education and its quality.
