Cognition as description and cognition as creation

Abstract

The article examines how university students acquire knowledge of a scientific subject. It shows the incompatibility of traditional interpretations of the mechanism of cognition with contemporary scientific views in biology, psychology and logic. The author proposes a model of cognition as a loop formed by the alternating movement of cognitive thought in two directions.
