Abstract
The problem of introducing a new model of higher education, which has been raised recently, is being considered. The essence of the new model of higher education has not yet been disclosed, but it has been publicly announced the elimination of the bachelor’s degree as a level of higher education. The authors compared the curricula of an engineer in 2000 and a bachelor in 2007 and found that the general professional and professional block of disciplines for bachelors is preserved. Of course, bachelors have reduced their practice and time to prepare and defend their certification work. According to the authors, it was a mistake to introduce a bachelor’s degree in areas rather than in specialties. Graduates of the Bachelor’s degree in technical fields needed additional practical training organized by employers. The model of the “future” is considered on the basis of statements by the head of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, and comments are made. A new model is proposed, which combines the global trends of the higher education system and a national approach with the preservation of a PhD degree.
