Abstract
In the context of rapid digitalization and growing cyber threats, the training of information security specialists requires the development not only of technical competencies but also of professional maturity as an integral personal characteristic. The aim of this study is to analyze theoretical and methodological approaches to professional maturity and to develop a model for its formation among students in information security programs. Three components of professional maturity are identified: cognitive, practical, and personal-value. The study substantiates the main challenges in developing professional maturity, including the lack of unified assessment criteria, high professional requirements, insufficient readiness of universities, shortcomings in educational standards, and the need to strengthen students’ motivational and value orientations. An original radar model for assessing professional maturity is proposed, comprising four levels: threshold, basic, advanced, and pre-professional. The practical significance of the study lies in the possibility of using the model to design individual educational trajectories and improve training programs for information security specialists.
