Higher pedagogical education in the south of Russia during the years of great patriotic war

Abstract

Presented is an analysis of development of higher pedagogical education in the South of Russia during the years of Great Patriotic war. Characterized are leading pedagogical universities in the region with detailed description of organization in them of educational and breeding processes. Based on the authors’ analysis of numerous archive documents, generalized is historical experience of activity of pedagogical institutes under complex conditions of war times. Also described is recovering period in activity of high schools in post-war period. Conclusion is made, that despite considerable losses, burdens and destructive consequences caused by war, in the South of Russia were preserved traditions of higher pedagogical education and basic high schools, in post-war period developed as largest educational, scientific and cultural centers of corresponding regions.
