Reproduction of scientific and pedagogical cadres in high schools of the city of Volgograd. Results of questionnaire of members of dissertation councils

Analyzed are results of expert questionnaire of both members of dissertation councils and lecturers (supervisors of doctor, post-graduate and master dissertations) in high schools of the city of Volgograd as to the problems of reproduction of scientific and pedagogical cadres. Shown is, that distortions of reproduction process in scientific and educational system are conditioned not only by “brain drain” into other spheres or emigration from Russia, but also by internal system reasons. They are connected with activity of VAK, dissertation councils, functioning of the system of training and attestation of cadres of higher qualification, as well as by work of supervisors of post-graduates and doctoral students. Demonstrated is attitude of experts to new requirements as to activity of dissertation councils and attestation of scientific and pedagogical cadres. Also examined are opinions of experts on measures as to improving situation in the sphere of reproduction of scientific cadres and the role of dissertation councils.
