Abstract
Presented is an analysis of political doctrine of Machiavelli, formulated in his little-known work “Discources on the first decade of Titus Livius”. Special attention is paid to Machiavelli’s republican ideas, that came into arsenal of political science. Refuted is common view on Machiavelli as ideologist of immoral politics.
