Abstract
The article raises questions about the challenges and goals of the family as important social institutions of upbringing and as a powerful factor of building a civil society in Russia. The author considers interaction of upbringing and education, their relationship with nature in shaping the child’s personality. The article describes goals and peculiarities of family (home) education.
