Abstract
Chemistry plays an important role in ensuring sustainable human development.In accordance with the initiative of the International Union of Pure and Applied Chemistry, supported by UNESCO, the UN declared 2011 the first International Year of Chemistry. The article raises important issues related to the condition of higher chemical education and science in our country, training of highly qualified personnel for this sector.
