Abstract

Analyzed is the problem of searching of ways as to modernization of higher professional education in Russia. The author is raising the question of necessity of continuity of certain values of university education, that doesn’t stop but stimulates development of the named. In the author’s opinion, necessary modernization of education couldn’t be realized at the expense of the very idea of university in it’s classical form, and any real progress in modernization of university education should pass necessarily in parallel with development of it’s “classical” form. Substantiated is the author’s conclusion, that any “non-classical” forms of university education are justified only then, if they don’t acquire self-sufficient character and turn out to be as like continuation of classical university.
