Abstract

A current trend in the modern labor market is the formation and implementation of employment promotion strategies based on the principles of sustainable development and the green economy. A characteristic feature of this policy is the creation of an environmentally friendly labor market through the formation of green jobs that help reduce the negative impact on nature and improve the environmental situation. It is noted that taking into account environmental factors in the process of development of the labor market in Azerbaijan can play a key role in solving the problems of unemployment and transforming the employment structure, including the introduction of various types of eco-innovations. It is emphasized that the transition to a green economy based on the principles of sustainable development and environmental responsibility will entail significant transformations in the labor market. This process will be characterized by the creation of new jobs in sectors such as renewable energy, energy-efficient technologies, waste recycling and environmentally friendly production. At the same time, there will be a reduction or complete disappearance of ‘traditional’ jobs in industries associated with the use of fossil resources.

The aim of the article is analysis and assessment of current trends of green economy impact on the labor market, prospects for creating new jobs and formation of demanded professional competencies in the conditions of green economy development, as well as possible consequences of transition to green economy for the labor market in Azerbaijan

Object of the study is the interaction of the green economy with the labor market, including the creation of new jobs, changes in the employment structure, the development of professional skills and the impact of environmental initiatives on labor processes and the labor market as a whole.
