Abstract
The article proposes the idea of identifying professional competencies in a specialist based on analysis of aspects of his career activity. It’s implementation made possible to identify typical occupational tasks in "Engineering" profession. Generalized methods for solving typical occupational tasks are devised, as well as ways to give concrete expressions to specific tasks with use of physical knowledge elaborated. Also described are formation methods for professional competence in future engineers during learning process at the university.
