Abstract
A central task of education policy is to analyze and use all available material resources as well as intellectual and organizational efforts to ensure a high social quality of development. This article describes education as a factor of production in an information society, identifies the basic features of the informational development of social life, and examines the preconditions for education to become one of the key factors of contemporary society.
