Abstract
The article highlights the main problems connected with development of state educational standards and their realization in universities throughout Russia and particularly in Moscow State Technical University n.a. N.E. Bauman. The author gives short characteristic of the previous generations of educational standards and touches upon the issue of the composition and significance of the immediate arrangements for the development of engineering education in modern Russia.
